The CFDA Board of Directors is comprised of dedicated professionals from all over the state. In addition to their strong commitment to their own vocation, they share their passion for our industry by dedicating time to professional associations, actively supporting the enrichment of our colleagues, and the betterment of our profession.
One shining example is CFDA Secretary, Tori Monforte. Tori is the funeral home manager for Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home, in Lodi. While in mortuary College, she applied for and was awarded the CFDA scholarship. Not only did it help financially, but it allowed her to attend her first CFDA convention. Tori immediately saw the value in this gathering of peers and mentors. She recognized the importance of continuing to learn and grow throughout one’s career - a belief she still holds and advocates. In 2018, Tori joined as a board member of the CFDA. She is the current chair of the Professional Development Committee and serves as the CFDA Secretary. She encourages anyone who is curious about becoming more involved with CFDA to join us!
Tori’s 20 years in funeral service have been mostly centered at Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home. It is here she rose into her managerial role. Within this role, she has been able to reach out to her community, beyond the funeral service itself. Drawing from her own love of painting and creating artwork, Tori started a Paint Night held at Cherokee, held twice a year. Client families are invited to explore the benefits of art therapy, while also enjoying a fun and relaxing evening. For Tori, watching people honor their loved ones and help heal their grief as they create a beautiful piece of art is truly special.
Thank you Tori for your commitment to CFDA, the families you serve, and our profession!
