Board Member Spotlight: Chanell O'Farrill

Happy Birthday to CFDA board member, Chanell O’Farrill! Chanell entered our profession in the aftercare and biography department at Hollywood Forever. She felt drawn to the service side as she watched how the funeral director coordinated between family, clergy, guests, and various elements of the service to make everything come together for a smooth and heartfelt experience. This is where she felt she could best serve families, and it became her goal to become a licensed funeral director. Goal achieved, she soon after was appointed as manager of Hollywood Funeral Home. She then got her Crematory Manager’s license to manage Hollywood Forever Crematory.

Chanell has been a long time board member of the Los Angeles County Funeral Directors Association, and served two separate terms as its president. She joined the CFDA Board of Directors just last year. She enjoys the camaraderie with fellow professionals, as well as mentoring those just getting started or curious about this industry. She balances funeral work with spending time with her wonderful husband, and their dogs and pet rabbits. She is also passionate about art and music, and enjoys painting, going to shows, and performing in a band.
