How Do I Get Help In Resolving Funeral Home Issues?
The stress of losing a loved one is, at best, difficult to adjust to. The job of the funeral director is to not only handle the technicalities, but it is also to help you through the process as smoothly as possible. Occasionally, however, communications break down under such stressful situations, and issues arise which are sometimes difficult to resolve.

You are encouraged to arrive at resolutions directly with the funeral home. Remember to put everything in writing, keep all your paper work, and approach any issue calmly and clearly. We know it is difficult under the circumstances, but a calm, factual presentation of your issues may bring the results you are looking for. However, if you cannot reach your goal, and your issue is with a CFDA member (see "Member Search" for a list of our members), please call CFDA at (916) 325-2361, and we may be able to help.

Once you have explored all reasonable avenues, and still need help, we suggest you call the Department of Consumer Affairs, Cemetery and Funeral Bureau at (800) 952-5210, which regulates the funeral profession in the state of California.
