Summary: The California Funeral Directors Association (CFDA) is comprised of approximately 650 members throughout California - funeral homes and companies serving the funeral profession.
Mission Statement: The purpose of the California Funeral Directors Association is to advocate and provide continuous professional development, and enhance the economic viability of member funeral service practitioners in order to provide services as desired by consumers.
As CFDA members we commit to follow a strong code of ethics
- To set an example of good citizenship by honesty and fairness in all dealings.
- To perform all services in a dignified and respectful manner.
- To respect the confidence of each family served.
- To be ever-mindful of the welfare of co-workers.
- To observe all public health laws and support enactment of all just laws pertaining to the mortuary profession.
- To encourage the advancement of all facets of funeral service.
- To extend any assistance necessary in offering service in individual cases of actual hardship.
- To conduct all services in a manner that will assist in meeting the needs of the decedent, both religious and personal of all those served.
- To cooperate and deal fairly with other funeral directors.

New OSHA Requirement

All employers must train all those who come in contact with any chemical in the workplace to understand how to interpret hazards communicated through pictograms and standardized material safety data sheets. Quick Cards are provided below for inclusion in your training manuals and for employee training in November 2013.
New Amendment Fees (Issued by the State Registrar)
Effective January 1, 2014, fees for Affidavit to Amend a Record (VS 24) and Physician/Coroner's Amendment (VS 24C) that are over a year will have a new processing fee of $23.00. This is for all amendments that are sent directly to the State Office. No fee is charged if the amendment is applied within one year of the event.
